Angie
Hello! I’m Angie and I founded Forever Young Yoga and Wellness to help others feel their best and live a high quality of life. I work with competitive athletes, ultramarathon runners, gymnasts, and dancers, but mostly I work with people who simply want to feel better, healthier, and younger in their daily lives. My classes and workshops focus on the mind-body connection and are based on the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of stretching. I help my clients create an ideal stretching practice to meet their individual goals and obtain maximum benefit.
I believe that stretching is truly an overlooked component in health and wellness. Most people underestimate the benefits of stretching and don’t know proper techniques. Stretching has profound effects on athletic performance, healthy aging, mental health, and quality of life.
I personally have experienced the benefits of a consistent stretching routine. For years I experienced several serious health issues and was in and out of the hospital. I had very little energy and felt the aches and pains of aging. I started taking yoga classes which helped me feel healthy for the first time in a long time. I became a Registered Yoga Teacher and noticed the difference that proper stretching had on the physical and mental health of my students and myself. I then became a Certified Stretching and Flexibility Coach. I have practiced a consistent stretching routine for years now. I move with ease and feel better than I did as a teenager.
This feeling of health and vibrance has had a dramatic impact on my quality of life. I now frequently travel and experience adventures that I never thought would be possible for me, from cliff jumping in Jamaica to summitting Mount Kilimanjaro. In October 2022, I became a Guiness World Record holder for holding an intense stretch, yoga nidrasasana, for the longest period of time.
In addition to teaching yoga and being a stretching and flexibility coach, I work in academia. Because of this, I’m constantly studying and reading. I’m able to identify valid data and research, as well as recognize “bad information.” In my work, I translate scientific information into a humanistic approach, as I truly value the well-being of each of my clients.
